Chairperson- AFQueT
Dr. Funmilayo Doherty
Dr. Funmilayo Doherty is a Chief Lecturer at Yaba College of Technology (YCT), Nigeria. She has Ph.D in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management. She is a recipient of many grants including World Bank STEP-B Innovators of Tomorrow research grant in 2011, UNESCO UNEVOC Grant for Joint Africa Regional Green TVET in 2017, Ford foundation grant in 2019, 2020 and 2021, University of Manchester research grant in 2019, and American College of Toxicology International Travel Grant in 2020. She has 48 publications, and co-authored 6 books. She is an experienced International facilitator for online courses and mentor on the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publication (INASP AuthorAID platform). She is an official AuthorAID steward and Coordinator of the AAonline journal club. She is an alumna of the UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme, Germany in 2016 and the Leaders in TVET programme, Singapore in 2015. She is an advocate of greening TVET and was appointed a consultant by the Commonwealth of Learning to facilitate a Sustainable Development in TVET workshop in Kenya in 2018. She is a certified prevention trainer for Sexual harassment and gender based violence. Dr. Doherty is the immediate Past and first female President, Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM).

First Vice Chairperson – AFQueT
Dr. Humphrey Danso
Dr. Humphrey Danso is a highly motivated individual with an education and construction technology background. He is currently a Senior Lecturer, a Consultant and a Researcher in Educational Evaluation, Competency-Based Training, Construction Technology and General Education. He has twenty-two (22) years of working experience in both pre-tertiary and tertiary education in Ghana, Russia, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Humphrey is a holder of PhD., MPhil., MSc., MTech. and B.Ed. in Construction Technology Education, Competency-Based Training and Strategic Management and Leadership from universities in the United Kingdom (UK), Russia, Australia and Ghana. He also holds a Certificate in Education from a university in Ghana.
Humphrey has a broad knowledge and experience in education in Ghana, Russia, UK and Australia as he studied and worked at various levels in education in those countries. He possesses academic qualifications in education in Ghana and UK. He is currently an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy for Teaching and Learning (FHEA) UK, Secretary to the African Foundation for Quality e-Learning in TVET (AFQueT) and a Member of the University Teachers Association of Ghana(UTAG)
Humphrey possesses excellent communication and writing skills, interpretation and analytic skills, and fluent in written and oral English. Humphrey has consultancy experience in working with public and international organizations including and Commonwealth of Learning (COL) for their Education and TVET sections, Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (C-TVET) Ghana, National Teaching Council (NTC) Ghana, German Development Cooperation (GIZ), and Design and Technology Institute (DTI). He has also worked with institutions from South Africa and UK in executing consultancy and research projects.

Second Vice Chairperson – AFQueT
Abdi K. Tiony
Abdi Tiony is a Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET) professional with a strong ambition and drive in providing solutions to organizations. The current Principal of Tindiret Technical & Vocational College in Kenya, and a second Vice chairman of the Africa Foundation for Quality E-learning (AFQUET). Tiony is also a member of the Open Distance & E-Learning National Committee in Kenya. He has gathered over 15 years of a wide range of skills and experience as a strategic thinker and TVET management consultant.
He holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Technical Education Training and a Bachelor of Education degree in Technical Education specializing in Mechanical Engineering Trades. Further, He has technical skills in Information Technology and online course design and facilitation as well as overseas fellowships in engineering automation and numerical controls.
Along his career path, he has held positions with direct charge on international projects/relations, greening TVET, ISO certification and audits, E-Learning and course designs. He consults on part time with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and has worked with the UNESCO UNEVOC on several projects.

Francis Wambua
Francis (MSc ISE) is an AFQueT board member and in charge of open learning/Open Educational Resources (OERs),Kenya Technical Training (KTTC), Kenya. His area of specialization is in computing and eLearning. He has worked as eLearning consultant in various organization.

Grace Titi Otieno
Secretary and coordinator of conferences/ workshops – AFQueT. Principal Lecturer, Ramogi Institute of Science & Technology in Kisumu, Kenya.
Grace is an experienced TVET Trainer (Twenty five years) with expertise in Fashion Design. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Design from Maseno University- Kenya, Bachelor of Science Degree in Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design from Egerton University-Kenya, Diploma in Technical Education KTTC-Kenya, Certificate in Clothing Technology with the Presidential Award for best overall student 1992 Class. She is a global TVET leader and 2019 Alumni of the UNESCO-UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme.
Grace is a member of the National Technical Committee implementing Open Distance Education Learning in TVET Institutions of Kenya. Besides training, she has offered consultancy services for the Labour Market Information Survey & Economic Feasibility Study. Technical consultant in the Kisumu garment-making technology incubator under the European Union. She is also a member of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce -Kenya. Examiner with the National Industrial Training Authority- Kenya and a Kenya Fashion Council Association member. Trained T.O.T., curriculum developer, Monitor and Evaluator, online facilitator and enthusiastic about sustainable development. A wealth of experience in Industrial linkages and publications.

Danila Bijal
Danila is a Lecturer in Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship, a Coordinator of the Hospitality and Tourism Department, and also responsible for the business incubators at Don Bosco Higher Institute, Maputo, Mozambique.

Misheck Kalungulungu
BoMisheck has more than 15 years of experience in teaching, research and administration in the TVET sector in Zambia. He is currently the Head, Research and Consultancy at Technical and Vocational Teachers’ College (TVTC) in Zambia. For a decade now, Misheck has been instrumental in training TVET teachers in Zambia in the use of technologies in teaching and learning. Misheck holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Mathematics) from the University of Zambia and an MBA (Entrepreneurship) from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.

Francis Macharia
Mr. Francis Macharia is the coordinator of e-learning at the e-campus of Thika Technical Training Institute, Kenya. He holds a MSC in Agribusiness and Trade as well as a BSC in Agribusiness from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He is very passionate with renewable energy sources especially Biogas technology matters, having had an intensive Diploma training in Agricultural engineering at Egerton University, Kenya.
He is the founder of Africa Greens Initiative which champions the use of alternative sources of energy in rural Africa so as to promote a green environment. He is a partitioner of e-learning at community level having participated in several meetings, workshop and conferences on the same across the globe.

Maxwell Dorgbefu Jnr.
Maxwell Dorgbefu Jnr. is a high-grade Academic, professional IT Consultant, and competency-based training (CBT) specialist. Maxwell has over 12 years of experience in teaching, learning, and assessment at the tertiary level of education in Ghana, and over three (3) years in CBT facilitation centered on the Ghana Harmonized, and Australian models. Max has also published in academic journals of international repute in areas of signal processing, systems development, information systems security, and data mining.
Apart from lectureship, and research, Max is a seasoned IT consultant with expertise in Systems Analysis and Design, Web and Mobile applications development, mission-critical Database design and implementation, Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, and general problem solving in computing. For over a decade, Max has contributed meaningfully to, or developed robust and scalable web and mobile applications, websites, and critical network infrastructures for small, medium and large organizations across the key sectors of Ghana’s economic development.
Max holds a Master of Science, Master of Technology, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Telecommunication Engineering, Competency Based Training (CBT), and Computer Science respectively. Max also holds Diploma in Education, Australian Certificate IV in CBT, Cisco Networking Academy Facilitator Certifications, and Oracle Database Certification. I also hold a number of electronic badges and certificates in key IBM Big Data related certification tracks, computer programming, and project management.
Currently, Maxwell is a Lecturer, and Programmes Coordinator at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, Kumasi, Ghana. I am an enthusiastic, and charismatic facilitator and speaker, with engaging communication skills.

engaging in research, development and innovation on ODFL;
certification through e-Quality checks for design, development and facilitation of e-Learning courses; organizing conferences, workshops, trainings and seminars on ODFL; championing a community of e-Learning practitioners in Africa; interacting, collaborating and sharing best practices in Open Educational Resources (OER), Inclusivity in TVET, Sustainable Development, Competency Based Education and Training (CBET); ICT Integration in TVET; and, encouraging industry linkages with TVET. AFQueT membership is drawn from practitioners working in various TVET institutions across Africa, who have expertise in e-Learning from different occupational areas.
